HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior Tyler Richardson opened his season with a pin and East Stroudsburg University posted a 40-6 win at Trinity in its 2015-16 wrestling dual opener on Friday night.

Richardson, a returning NCAA DII qualifier and the No. 6-ranked 197-pounder in the NWCA preseason poll, was one of seven Warriors to post wins on the mat against DIII Trinity.  

Senior Tyson Searer (285), ranked No. 4 in Super Region 1, won by decision and junior Joey Kratochvil (157), ranked No. 6 in the region, won by major decision.

Three Warriors won in their ESU debut - redshirt freshman Collyn Dorney (125) by technical fall, freshman Mike Raccioppi (149) by decision and junior Brandon Steele (184) by major decision. Senior Colin Martucci (174) won by decision in his first action at ESU since the 2012-13 season.

ESU competes in the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Saturday.
