Nace Wins 141-Pound Title; Richardson (197), Searer (285) 2nd at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Redshirt freshman Dylan Nace won the 141-pound bracket, and junior Tyler Richardson (197) and senior Tyson Searer (285) placed second in their weight classes to lead East Stroudsburg University's contingent at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Saturday.

Nace went 4-0 (3-0 on the mat) and won the title with a first-period pin of Lucas Escobar (Johns Hopkins). He won his round-of-16 match and semifinal match by major decision, advancing through the quarterfinals via forfeit.

Richardson, ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division II, won his first four bouts before falling 14-4 to AJ Kowal (Stevens Institute), ranked No. 8 in DIII, in the final.

Searer won by decision in the quarterfinals and advanced to the final by forfeit, where he fell 6-2 vs. Irakli Kakauridze (Springfield).

Redshirt freshman Collyn Dorney (125) and freshman Mike Raccioppi (149) both placed fifth in their brackets.

Dorney won five straight consolation bouts, three by bonus points, after a setback to eventual champion Rob Murray (Stevens Institute) in the first round. He was 6-2 on the day with four bonus point wins.

Raccioppi wrestled back through four rounds in his bracket, also going 6-2 with four bonus wins.

ESU opened its dual season with a 40-6 win at Trinity (Conn.) on Friday night.

The Warriors host Pitt-Johnstown, ranked No. 6 in the preseason NWCA DII poll, on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
