Maddie Hutchison had 27 digs and became the second player in program history with 2,000 career digs, but East Stroudsburg University fell to Kutztown, 3-2, in PSAC East women's volleyball on Tuesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Hutchison had 20+ digs for the 11th time in 27 matches this season, and the 38th time in 116 matches in her career. She went over the 10-dig mark for the 101st time at ESU.
Hutchison joins Dawn Peipher (2,574 - 2003-06) as the only ESU players with 2,000 career digs.
Sophomore outside hitter
Desiree Claxton had 15 kills and 12 digs for her 10th double-double of the season, and sophomore middle blocker had a career-high 11 kills and five blocks for ESU (7-21, 2-16).
Freshman
Tina Predojevic had eight kills, 25 assists and 11 digs and sophomore
Erica Cunningham Erica Cunningham had 18 assists and seven digs.
Jessica Howe had 11 kills and nine digs and Madison Brake had 19 digs to lead Kutztown (8-22, 5-13). The Golden Bears won by set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 18-25 and 15-12.
ESU travels to Lock Haven on Friday and Pitt-Johnstown Saturday for PSAC matches this weekend.
