ESU Women’s Volleyball Falls at Lock Haven, 3-0

LOCK HAVEN - Sophomore outside hitter Desiree Claxton had 11 kills and senior libero Maddie Hutchison had 27 digs, but East Stroudsburg University fell 3-0 at Lock Haven in PSAC East women's volleyball on Friday night.

Megan Flick had 11 kills, Jessica Brown had 31 assists and 15 digs and Sydney Belcastro had 21 digs to lead Lock Haven (18-11, 9-8).

Claxton (348 kills, 252 digs) hit the 250-kill, 250-dig mark for the second straight season to open her career. She had 299 kills and 257 digs as a freshman, when she was the first ESU player with at least 250 in both categories since 2004.

Hutchison hit the 2,000-dig mark for her career on Tuesday against Kutztown. She has 590 digs this season, fifth-most at ESU since 1990, and 2,043 in her career, second in school history. She is third in the PSAC with 5.90 digs per set.

Sophomore middle blocker Erin Gloor had six kills, sophomore outside hitter Rosa Veliky had five kills and 10 digs and freshman setter Kimberly McCann had a team-high eight assists.

ESU (7-22, 2-17) travels to PSAC East leader Pitt-Johnstown (25-4, 16-2) on Saturday.
