Madison Tamburini (16) all hit career-highs as East Stroudsburg University posted a 96-60 win vs. Cheyney in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
ESU (4-7, 2-5) scored its most points since 2008 and shot 59.7 percent from the field (37-for-62), its best mark since at least 2003. The Warriors forced 26 turnovers on the defensive end.
Kyra Hines-Allen and Amber Genwright scored 21 points each for Cheyney (1-9, 0-7).
ESU won its third straight game, following a 59-50 win vs. Mercyhurst on December 5 and a 70-61 win at Holy Family on Monday.
Rutkowski shot 10-for-15 from the field and 4-for-6 at the foul line for her 24 points. She had scored 14 points this season and 30 in her career entering the afternoon, then had eight points in the first quarter and 11 at halftime. Her previous career-high was four points.
Rutkowski also added five of ESU's six blocked shots in her first career start. She had eight blocks and 10 rebounds off the bench in the win vs. Mercyhurst two weeks ago.
Brown was 8-for-11 from the field and 3-for-3 at the foul line for 19 points, following up her previous career-high of 15 vs. Mercyhurst.
Tamburini was 5-for-7 from the field, 4-for-5 from the three-point line and 2-for-4 at the foul line for her 16 points.
Junior forward
Allison Howard, ESU's top scorer (15.7 ppg) and rebounder (7.8 rpg) entering the weekend, had nine points and seven rebounds after recording three straight double-doubles the last two weeks.
Freshman guard
Noelle Powell scored seven points, all in the first half. Senior guard Teyca Reviere had six points and tied her career-high with seven assists, and junior guard
Rachel Falkowski scored six points.
Senior guard
Melissa Poderis had two points, a career-high eight rebounds and tied her career-high with six assists. ESU had 30 assists on its 37 made field goals.
The Warriors led 43-27 at halftime, then stretched their lead to as many as 35 points (70-35) in the third quarter, leading 70-39 through 30 minutes. ESU's biggest lead of the contest was 40 (92-52) with just over one minute remaining.
ESU's 96 points are its most since a 96-89 (OT) win vs. Moravian in 2008, and the most in regulation since a 103-30 win vs. PSU-Hazleton in 2007.
The Warriors scored their second-most points vs. a PSAC school behind a 97-93 win vs. Mansfield in 1983. They scored 96 in a 100-96 (OT) loss at Millersville during the 1986 season.
ESU had three players scored at least 15 points for the first time since an 84-77 win vs. Mansfield in 2007, when Alyssa Antolick (33), Monika Fogelsanger (16) and Jackie Yandrisevits (16) all hit the 15-point mark.
ESU's 59.7 field goal percentage edged a 59.6 mark (34-for-57) in an 86-71 win at Cheyney at 2007, the best percentage since game-by-game records are available (2002-03).
ESU is away from action until Sunday, January 3, when the Warriors host defending NCAA DII champion California (Pa.) at 1 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
