EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt senior Luke DeLuise (184) and junior Tyson Searer (285) posted victories, but Wheeling Jesuit won a 31-7 decision over East Stroudsburg University in a Super Region 1 wrestling dual on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

DeLuise won a 7-4 decision over Ryan Winslow in an upset according to the most recent regional rankings. DeLuise (10-7) is ranked No. 6 in the region at 184 pounds, two spots behind No. 4 Winslow. DeLuise had two takedowns in the first period and another in the second, and used the riding time advantage of 1:50 for his 7-4 victory.

Searer, ranked No. 4 in the region, won an 8-0 major decision over Corey Siegfriend in the night's final bout, improving to 18-7 on the season with eight straight victories. His last loss was an injury default on December 13 at the Midwest Classic.

At 197, ESU sophomore Tyler Richardson, ranked No. 1 in Super Region 1, suffered a second-period fall (4:44) against Maxwell Lacey. Richardson (14-8) took his first loss since January 3, and his first loss to an in-region wrestler, falling to 7-1 against SR1 foes.

Wheeling Jesuit won the first seven bouts, including four victories by regionally-ranked wrestlers.

At 165, redshirt sophomore Matt Wax dropped a 6-5 decision to Anthony Smith.
