HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Junior Amina Dickson, senior Allison Bean and senior Taylor Presby all won three-set matches in singles as East Stroudsburg University edged St. Joseph's (Ind.), 6-3, in non-conference women's tennis on Thursday.

Four of the six singles matches went to a third-set tiebreaker and SJU won a 9-8 decision at No. 2 doubles in a closely contested dual. ESU improves to 3-3, while St. Joseph's falls to 1-4.

Dickson came back from a one-set deficit for a 5-7, 6-3, 13-11 win at No. 1 singles over Tate Hickey.

Bean won the first set in a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win over Clare Kost at No. 2.

Sophomore Amber Jadus won in straight sets (6-2, 6-3) at No. 3 singles, and Presby had a 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 win at No. 4.

SJU pulled out the fifth and sixth singles spots.

Dickson and Bean posted an 8-2 win over Hickey and Kost at No. 1 doubles, and Jadus and sophomore Kayla Loar won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

At No. 2, Taylor Presby and freshman Devin Presby fell 9-8 to Katie Phillips and Vanessa Olson.

ESU went 3-1 in Hilton Head with wins over St. Joseph's and NAIA schools Roosevelt (Ill.) and Lawrence Tech (Mich.).

The Warriors head to Moravian next Friday (March 20) for a 3 p.m. match.
