Rachael Liguori threw a two-hit shutout in a 4-0 win in the opener as East Stroudsburg University swept a non-conference softball doubleheader at Bowie State on Tuesday.
ESU (7-4) won the second game, 5-2, with junior
Haley Thomas hitting her first career home run for an insurance run in the sixth inning.
The Warriors are slated to open PSAC East action on Friday at home against Lock Haven, with the game location TBA depending on field conditions. ESU's home doubleheader vs. Shippensburg on Saturday has been moved to Shippensburg, with the Raiders returning to ESU on April 10.

Mary Wallick and senior 1B
Cara McNeil were both 4-for-7 to lead ESU's offense as the Warriors had a 21-9 advantage in hits in the doubleheader.
Wallick is hitting .429 (15-for-35) through her first 11 collegiate games. McNeil, a returning All-PSAC East second team selection, is batting .382 (13-for-34) with a team-high 10 RBI and sophomore SS
Rae Holden is hitting .346 (9-for-26).
Game 1 - W 4-0Liguori threw her second shutout in five days after blanking Bridgeport, 1-0, with a four-hit last Thursday in Florida.
ESU had 12 hits, with Wallick going 3-for-4 with a run in the leadoff spot and three players (McNeil, Holden and senior 2B
Jamie Smith) collecting two hits each.
ESU struck first in the third inning when freshman OF
Katherine Liedberg hit a leadoff double, Wallick singled and advanced to second on the throw, and Liedberg scored on a sacrifice fly by senior OF
Kasey Meckes. McNeil hit a two-out RBI single to plate Wallick for a 2-0 lead.
The Warriors added a run in the fifth when Holden scored on an RBI fielders choice by senior OF
Cara Woods, and another in the seventh. Junior OF
Sierra Wagner led off with a double and freshman
Madison Oren, who entered as a pinch-runner, scored on an RBI single by Holden.
Liguori allowed just a two-out single in the first and a one-out single in the sixth. She struck out five, walked three and hit one batter.
Liguori has a 3-1 record and 0.62 ERA, 25 strikeouts and 16 walks in 33.2 innings (8 games, 4 starts) this season.
Game 2 - W 5-2Meckes was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs, McNeil was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and Thomas homered in the sixth inning for the Warriors.
Junior
Allison Mende got the win in relief, throwing 4.2 shutout innings and allowing just three hits.
McNeil hit an RBI triple in the first inning, and ESU scored two runs in the third on an RBI triple by Meckes and an RBI single by McNeil for a 3-1 lead.
Bowie State scored one run in the bottom of the third and threatened for more before Mende got out of a jam.
It remained 3-2 until the top of the sixth, when Thomas hit a one-out homer to right center to extend the lead. Bowie State loaded the bases with one out but Mende got out of trouble in the bottom of the sixth, and the Warriors added another run in the seventh on an RBI groundout by Meckes.
