LEXINGTON, Va. - Senior Danielle Smith broke her own meet record in the 200m and East Stroudsburg University athletes won 10 events and two relays in its season-opening outdoor track and field meet at Washington & Lee on Friday and Saturday.

Smith ran 24.88 in the 200 to break her meet record of 25.09 set in 2013. She also ran a PSAC qualifying time in the 400m (58.41) in her first action since winning her ESU record eighth career PSAC championship at the indoor championships three weeks ago.

ESU athletes recorded 28 PSAC qualifying marks (22 men, 6 women) in their first outdoor action this spring.

Both the men's and women's teams had five individual winners and one relay.

Individual winners for the women were Smith (200m), sophomore Kelley Anne Stuetz (high jump - 4-11 1/2), sophomore Alysha Menzies (shot put - 36-7), senior Elizabeth Madden (hammer - 148-4) and freshman Taylor Watkins (javelin - 125-6).

Event winners for the men were sophomore Steven Morgan (110H - 14.96), sophomore Ronald D'Eliseo (400H - 54.76), senior Mike Smith (shot put - 51-5 1/2), senior Casey Ciaston (discus - 149-5) and graduate student Jack Rosenstein (hammer - 172-5).

ESU won both the men's and women's 4x400m relays. The men's team of freshman Juwaan Walker, junior Derrick Washington, D'Eliseo and senior Damien Boham won in 3:16.46, the No. 8 time in ESU history.

The women's 4x4 team of freshman Hope Decker, Smith, sophomore Erin Brady and freshman Jaid Harsch won in 4:00.81.
 
Rosenstein's mark of 172-5 in the men's hammer is the fifth-best in school history. Freshman Montel Johnson-Troupe ran 22.09 in the men's 200m, ESU's 10th-best time.

Watkins' mark of 125-6 in the women's javelin in her career debut ranks eighth at ESU.

Danielle Smith (200, 400) led the six PSAC qualifiers for ESU's women. Also turning in qualifier marks were senior Caitlin Perry (5K - 18:28.40), Brady (400H - 1:06.84), Madden in the hammer and Watkins in the javelin.

Madden, a two-time PSAC champion in the weight throw indoors (2013, 2014), saw her first action since placing fourth in the PSAC in the hammer outdoors last spring.

Five ESU men's athletes had PSAC qualifying marks in multiple events. Freshman Zach Dillon qualified in the 100m (11.05) and long jump (21-6 1/4), Johnson-Troupe in the 100m (11.07) and 200m (22.09), Morgan in the 110m hurdles (14.96) and 200m (22.45) and D'Eliseo had PSAC times in the 110m hurdles (15.24) and 400m hurdles (54.76).

Morgan, the defending PSAC outdoor 110m hurdles champ as a freshman, is coming off the PSAC indoor title in the 60m hurdles three weeks ago. D'Eliseo was third in the PSAC in both the 110 and 400 hurdles as a freshman last spring.

Mike Smith had PSAC qualifying marks in the shot put (51-5 1/2) and hammer (163-2).

Additional PSAC qualifiers for ESU's men included - freshman Ernest Pendleton (100m - 11.08), senior Kyle Rickard (200m - 22.67), Walker (400m - 50.17), Boham (800m - 1:55.18), senior Steve Ruch (5K - 15:17.44), sophomore Alex Zubko (10K - 32:32.86), freshman Dan Buccino (10K - 32:58.88), sophomore Anthony Ruiz (3000m steeplechase - 9:50.26) and junior Adam Robertino (110H - 15.62).

Also qualifying in field events were sophomore La Treil Ridgway (triple jump - 44-7 1/2), Ciaston (discus - 149-5) and Rosenstein (hammer - 172-5).
