Kaitlynn Wiltraut scored five goals and junior attack
Lauren Nunes had four goals and five assists, but Millersville held off East Stroudsburg University for a 17-14 win in PSAC lacrosse on Tuesday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
ESU (4-1, 1-1) trailed 16-4 with 18 minutes left before its furious comeback fell three goals short. The Warriors closed the game on a 10-1 run with Nunes and Wiltraut burying four goals each.
Millersville (3-3, 1-1) scored the first eight goals and led 14-3 at halftime. Sabrina Fusco (4 goals, 2 assists), Renee Landis (3 goals, 2 assists) and Bridget Hufnagel (3 goals, 2 assists) combined for 10 goals and six assists for the Marauders.
Nunes' nine points are tied for ESU's most in the last 11 years. Michelle Mangiaruga (2011) and Renee Maniscalco (2008) also had nine points, both against Shippensburg.
Her five assists are also tied for ESU's most in that period with Christine Bradley at Gannon a 2011 PSAC quarterfinal win, and Leah Quigley vs. Millersville in 2005.
Nunes has 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists this season and is second in the PSAC in points per game.
Wiltraut (21 goals) has a hat trick in each of the first five games, tied for ESU's longest stretch of games with at least three goals with Mangiaruga and Molly O'Hara, both in 2009.
Millersville held a 22-9 advantage in shots in the first half and controlled the game for the first 40 minutes before the Warriors rallied late.

A seven-goal run, capped by a goal by junior attack
Samantha Weinert (assisted by Nunes) with 7:41 left, brought the Warriors within 16-11.
Millersville stopped the run with a Hufnagel goal with 5:52 remaining before ESU scored three more times - Wiltraut, redshirt sophomore midfielder
Jamie Zimmer and Wiltraut again - to make it 17-14 with 2:00 remaining, but the Warriors wouldn't get any closer.

Jessica Maxwell had 10 saves for ESU.
The Warriors travel to Erie this weekend for games at Mercyhurst (Friday) and Gannon (Saturday), both at 3 p.m.
