WEST CHESTER - East Stroudsburg University fell at West Chester, 9-0, in its PSAC East women's tennis opener on Tuesday.

The Warriors took the No. 4 singles match to a third set where senior Taylor Presby fell to Cassidy Branigan, 6-3, 5-7 (10-6).

WCU won the other five singles spots in straight sets.

In doubles, WCU's Claire Uhle and Maddy Shaak won 8-1 at No. 1 over junior Amina Dickson and senior Allison Bean. Presby and sophomore Amber Jadus fell to Nicole Fahringer and Alyssa Rees, 8-5, at No. 2 and freshmen Devin Presby and Elizabeth Bartoli dropped an 8-4 score to Abriana Nolan and Amalia Hartman at No. 3.

In singles, Uhle posted a 6-0, 6-3 win over Dickson and Shaak took a 6-3, 6-1 win over Bean at No. 1 and No. 2.

Nolan notched a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jadus at No. 3.

Rees topped Bartoli, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 5 and Kristen Wong had a 6-3, 6-1 win over Devin Presby at No. 6.

ESU (3-4, 0-1) travels to Philadelphia U for a non-conference match on Saturday.
