ESU Lacrosse Falls at Slippery Rock, 13-10

SLIPPERY ROCK - Sophomore attack Lauren Green scored four goals and junior attack Lauren Nunes added three goals and one assist, but Slippery Rock came away with a 13-10 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon.

Caitlynn Palladino had three goals and one assist to lead Slippery Rock (5-7, 3-4), which led 10-4 early in the second half before holding off ESU (6-5, 2-5).

Junior attack Kaitlynn Wiltraut, junior midfielder Annastasia Porpora and sophomore attack Kristina Caprio added goals for ESU.

SRU jumped out to a 5-1 lead and led 6-4 at halftime after Paige Constantino scored with four seconds left in the first half.

After Slippery Rock scored the first four goals of the second half, ESU scored five of the next six to pull within 11-9 on a goal by Porpora with 13:07 remaining.

Erin Wilcox netted a free position goal with 7:04 remaining to put SRU ahead, 12-9. Nunes converted for ESU to make it 12-10 with 2:45 remaining, but Palladino had the game's last goal with 1:03 left.

ESU had a 30-20 advantage in shots and led 14-10 in draw controls.

Jordan Wagner made 10 saves for the Rock, while sophomore Emily Fitzsimmons had seven saves for the Warriors.

Green was coming off a five-goal game in a 14-13 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday and has 28 goals this season.

Nunes, third in the PSAC in points per game entering the weekend, pushed her season total to 57 points on 34 goals and 23 assists, both team highs. Wiltraut ranks second with 31 goals and 37 points.

ESU travels to No. 2-ranked Lock Haven (10-0, 7-0) on Tuesday. LHU is coming off an 8-6 win over Millersville Saturday.
