EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Rachael Liguori and junior Allison Mende both earned complete game victories in the circle as East Stroudsburg University swept a PSAC East softball doubleheader against Mansfield, 3-2 and 4-2, on Monday afternoon at Zimbar Field.

The Warriors (12-7, 5-3) allowed just seven hits in winning both ends of their home opener.

ESU scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-out RBI single by senior 2B Jamie Smith in the opener.

Liguori allowed just four hits in improving to 5-3 on the season, throwing complete games in seven of her eight starts. She struck out four and walked three.

The Warriors scored in three of the first four innings to take a 4-0 lead in game two.

Mende (6-2) had a career-high nine strikeouts, surrendered just three hits and didn't allow a base knock until the leadoff batter in the fourth inning.

ESU is scheduled to travel to Lock Haven on Tuesday and hosts Millersville Wednesday. The Warriors are home vs. Shippensburg on Friday and head to Millersville Saturday as part of a 10-game week.

GAME 1 - W 3-2
 
ESU took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a two-run, two-out triple by senior 1B Cara McNeil after a one-out single by freshman 3B Mary Wallick and a two-out single by senior OF Sierra Wagner.

Liguori retired Mansfield (6-12-1, 1-9) in order in three of the first five innings, but the Mounties scored twice in the sixth before the sophomore left-hander got out of the jam.

In the bottom of the sixth, Wagner reached on a leadoff error and freshman pinch-runner Madison Oren eventually came around to score. She moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by McNeil, third on a groundout by sophomore SS Rae Holden and scored on Smith's RBI single to left.

Liguori pitched around a two-out walk in the seventh to secure the victory.

ESU made the most of its four hits off Ashley Inman (6.0 IP, 3 runs, 2 earned, 5 strikeouts, 1 walk), who fell to 5-5 for Mansfield.

GAME 2 - W 4-2
 
ESU led 3-0 before Mansfield managed a baserunner off Mende in the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the first, Wallick singled and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by McNeil to give Mende an early lead.

The Warriors extended it to 3-0 in the third after a leadoff double by freshman OF Katherine Liedberg, an RBI single by senior OF Kasey Meckes and an RBI double by Wagner.

ESU added another run in the fourth when senior OF Cara Woods had a one-out single and scored on a two-out triple by Liedberg.

Mansfield pulled within 4-2 in the fifth on a two-run homer by Melanie Taylor before Mende retired the final eight batters, including four via strikeout.

ESU had six hits with Liedberg going 2-for-2 at the bottom of the order.

Chelsey Heatley threw 3.2 innings for Mansfield (4 runs, 3 earned) before Laura Knight got the final seven outs without allowing a hit.

Three Warriors had multiple hits in the doubleheader in Liedberg, Wagner and Wallick.
