Emily Howell scored the game-winning goal 8:24 into the first overtime period, giving No. 4-ranked East Stroudsburg University a 2-1 (OT) win at Slippery Rock in non-conference field hockey on Saturday afternoon.
Howell scored the game-winner for ESU (4-2) after Slippery Rock (2-4) tied the game with 8:29 left in regulation on a goal by Courtney Bradshaw.
Senior forward
Ally Roth scored the only goal of the first half for ESU, her fifth of the season and the 58th of her career. Roth broke the school record for career goals earlier this season.
ESU held advantages of 22-6 in shots and 13-7 in penalty corners. Carlee DuMars had 16 saves for Slippery Rock, while junior goalkeeper

Howell's goal was the third of her career and her second game-winner. She scored with 54 seconds left in a 3-2 win at Kutztown on the final day of the regular season in 2013 to put the Warriors in the PSAC Tournament.
