Robin Stevenson scored in the first half, and senior midfielder
Rebecca Snyder scored 1:53 into the second half for the Warriors (5-2), who host No. 1 West Chester in their PSAC opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
McCarthy opened the scoring 15:14 into the game with her second career goal, and Stevenson made it 2-0 four minutes later on an assist from freshman midfielder
Paige Harrold.
Dowling (1-4) pulled within 2-1 at halftime as Sarah Shams-Kollar scored 1:54 before intermission. Snyder gave the Warriors a 3-1 lead early in the second half.

ESU held advantages of 27-7 in shots and 11-5 in penalty corners.
Junior goalkeeper
Danielle Ard made four saves for ESU, while Ariana Ovadia had 15 saves for Dowling.

On Saturday, ESU will look for its first win over a No. 1-ranked team since 2010, when the Warriors won 2-1 vs. Shippensburg in the PSAC semifinals.
