KUTZTOWN - Senior William Berry became the first seven-foot high jumper in East Stroudsburg University history, easily clearing the NCAA Division II provisional qualifier and just missing the automatic qualifier, to lead the Warriors' indoor track and field program at Kutztown on Friday night.

Berry cleared 7-0 1/2, breaking a school record of 6-11 3/4 that he set at Kutztown in 2014 and was tied by Seth Bailey at the NCAA Championships three weeks later.

He easily surpassed the DII provisional mark of 6-8 and was just off the automatic qualifier of 7-1 1/2.

Berry, a second team All-America in the outdoor high jump last spring, entered his senior year tied for the school record both indoors and outdoors. He shares the outdoor record (6-10 3/4) with Toby Virgil (1982).

Berry is a three-time national qualifier, two-time defending PSAC outdoor champion and has been the PSAC indoor runner-up the last two years.

Redshirt senior Travis Toth had a mark of 56-1 in the weight throw after hitting an NCAA provisional (57-3 1/2) in the season opener at Lehigh on December 5. Toth, a three-time national qualifier, was All-America in the hammer at the NCAA outdoor championships in 2014 and was PSAC champion in both the weight and the hammer. He redshirted in 2015.

Junior Sean Hagerty improved his PSAC qualifier in the long jump (21-11). Junior La Treil Ridgeway had a mark of 45-6 1/4 in the triple jump, just off his PSAC qualifier of 45-10 1/2 at Lehigh. Sophomore Brad Najac had a PSAC qualifying mark in the triple jump (44-2 3/4) and sophomore Juwaan Walker in the 400m (51.60).

Senior Eric Conard, the PSAC decathlon champion last spring, had a PR in the pole vault at 14-5 1/4 to improve his PSAC qualifying mark.

ESU's women had two PSAC qualifiers in the long jump in senior Tirzah Johnson (17-4 3/4) and junior Carla Dutt (17-2 3/4).

Due to timing issues, many of the sprint times were hand-timed.  Updated PSAC qualifiers will be listed when they are available.
