EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt freshman Dylan Nace (141) and senior Tyson Searer (285) both won by fall in East Stroudsburg University's 33-12 dual setback vs. No. 7-ranked Mercyhurst in PSAC and NCAA Division II Super Region 1 wrestling action on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Nace used a reversal to pin Joey Miller 29 seconds into the second period in his 141-pound bout, improving to 14-2 on the season (8-0 in duals) with his team-leading seventh pin. Nace is 7-1 against DII opponents in his first season on the mat. Eleven of his 14 victories have been by bonus points with seven falls, one technical fall, three major decisions, one decision and two forfeits on his ledger.

Searer won by defensive fall with 36 seconds left in the second period against No. 7-ranked Andy Welton, a two-time national qualifier and an All-America last year with a fifth-place finish in DII. Welton is ranked No. 2 in the region with Searer at No. 3 in the most recent coaches poll.

Searer improved to 41-9 in his 50th career dual and 69-36 in his four years at ESU. A national qualifier at 197 pounds as a freshman in 2013, Searer is 10-6 this season (5-1 vs. DII competition).

Mercyhurst won by bonus points in seven of its eight victories. The Lakers matted four nationally-ranked wrestlers, nine regionally-ranked wrestlers, seven returning national qualifiers and five All-America selections.

At 184, ESU junior Tyler Richardson went to overtime in his bout with Angelo Bortoluzzi before falling, 7-5:sv1. Richardson took a 3-2 lead into the third period with a takedown with one second left in the second. He earned an escape in the third, gave up a stall point with 40 seconds left, and Bortoluzzi had a takedown with 10 seconds left for a 5-4 lead before getting hit with a stall point at the buzzer to force overtime.

Mercyhurst won the night's first dual, 36-7 vs. Kutztown in a match that was originally scheduled for Saturday at Kutztown, but rescheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. at ESU due to this weekend's impending winter weather.
