BETHLEHEM - Graduate student Travis Toth had a mark of 60-5 1/4 in the weight throw, improving his NCAA Division II provisional qualifying effort, to lead East Stroudsburg University's track and field entrants at the Covert Invitational at Lehigh on Saturday.

Toth previously had a mark of 57-3 1/2  at Lehigh on December 5. Toth was an All-American in the hammer outdoors as a junior in 2014 before taking a redshirt year and is a three-time national qualifier for the Warriors. He was PSAC champion in the weight throw indoors and hammer outdoors in his most recent season of competition.

ESU athletes had 16 new and eight improved PSAC qualifiers in their first competition in two weeks, as they were unable to compete in last weekend's meet at Bucknell due to winter weather.

Junior Allison Decker, an NCAA qualifier in cross country last fall, ran an impressive 17:47.94 in the 5000m in her first competition of the indoor season. The time is sixth-best in school history in an event that includes multiple All-Americans and national qualifiers in both track and cross country.

Freshman Marissa Flim improved her PSAC qualifying times in both the 60m (7.86 - 6th in school history) and 200m (26.69).

Sophomore Kaylyn West ran PSAC qualifiers in the 800m (2:21.66 - 7th in school history) and mile (5:19.29), and sophomore Samantha Young also clocked a PSAC qualifier in the mile (5:24.87).

Freshman Joanne Mason had a pair of PSAC qualifiers, hitting standards in the triple jump (36-2 1/4 - 7th-best at ESU) and 60m hurdles (9.58).

Sophomore Samantha DiPietro also hit two PSAC marks, in the long jump (17-2 3/4 - t-10th at ESU) and triple jump (34-11 1/4).

Twelve ESU men combined for eight new and six improved PSAC qualifying marks, led by Toth in the weight throw.

Junior Steven Morgan, a three-time PSAC champion in the hurdles, improved his 60m hurdles time to 8.29 and also hit a PSAC qualifier in the long jump (21-4 3/4).

Freshman Akeim Thomas had an impressive ESU debut, running 8.32 in the 60m hurdles (4th-best at ESU) and 22.85 in the 200m. Freshman Mike Matrisciano also had a PSAC qualifier in the 60m hurdles (8.67).

Elsewhere on the track, freshman Patrick Monahan (7.20) and sophomore Ernest Pendleton (7.22) improved their PSAC qualifying times in the 60m, senior Derrick Washington qualified in the 400m (51.21) after winning the PSAC outdoor title last spring, sophomore Juwaan Walker improved his 400m time (51.54) and junior Robert Garvey ran a PSAC qualifier in the 400m (51.68). Freshman Jared Glosser qualified in the 800m (1:59.75) and junior Alec Lederer in the 5000m (15:45.62).

In the jumps, junior Sean Hagerty improved his mark in the long jump (22-5 3/4) with Morgan also qualifying in the long jump.

The Warriors won eight individual events, four men and four women. Posting wins for the women were Flim in the 60m (7.86), West in the 800m (2:21.66), Decker in the 5000m (17:47.94) and Mason in the triple jump (36-2 1/4).
