ERIE - Sophomore forward
Bailey Quinn scored twice and No. 2-ranked East Stroudsburg University broke open a close game with goals on either side of halftime, earning a 5-0 win at Mercyhurst in PSAC field hockey on Saturday afternoon.
Quinn opened the scoring for ESU (8-3, 2-1) just 5:44 into the game, followed by goals by junior forward
Melanie Shambaugh with 40 seconds left in the first half and senior midfielder
Desiraye Mack 4:21 into the second half.
Quinn scored her second goal of the game 10 minutes later, and sophomore forward
Kelli Shapiro finished the scoring just three minutes after that - with 18:12 remaining in the contest.

ESU previously blanked Mercyhurst, 7-0, in a non-conference game on September 10 at Whitenight Field.
Quinn scored her second and third goals of the year for the Warriors. Mack's goal was her fifth of the season and the 20th of her career - she scored 12 goals and earned NFHCA All-America first team honors while helping ESU to the PSAC and NCAA Division II championships as a junior.
Senior goalkeeper
Danielle Ard made one save in 57 minutes of work for her fifth shutout of the season (fourth solo) in 11 starts. Ard had 17 career shutouts (12 solo) in 54 starts overall.
ESU hosts Bloomsburg, ranked No. 6 in this week's NFHCA poll, on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Whitenight Field. The Warriors fell 3-0 at Bloomsburg in non-conference action on September 6.
