Box Score

WEST CHESTER - Jenny Bail scored the game-winning goal with just 45 seconds remaining, lifting No. 5-ranked West Chester to a 1-0 win over No. 11 East Stroudsburg University in a match-up of the PSAC's top two women's soccer teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Bail scored on an assist from Carmen Telesco, helping West Chester (12-0, 12-0) remain unbeaten after the Golden Rams moved into the top five in this week's NSCAA Division II poll earlier Tuesday.

ESU (10-2-1, 10-1-1) suffered its first PSAC loss of the season. The Warriors were ranked No. 3 in last week's NSCAA DII poll and were 1-0-1 last week, winning 1-0 vs. Kutztown on Wednesday and tying 1-1 (2OT) at Slippery Rock on Saturday on a late goal by senior midfielder Shea Neal.

West Chester held a 17-8 advantage in shots, 8-2 in the first half and 9-6 in the second half, and Alex Srolis made three saves in goal for the Golden Rams.

Junior goalkeeper Jules Harris made five saves for ESU. Harris entered the week ranked seventh in DII in goals against average (0.330).

ESU played without two starters in Neal (2 goals, 4 assists), who had started all but one game in her career (74 career starts), and sophomore forward Alex Pickett (7 goals, 1 assist), the Warriors top scorer.

Junior forward Molly Vicari made her second start of the season, and freshman midfielder Jules Sicker made her first career start.

Both of the Warriors' losses this season have been at top-five teams, previously falling 2-1 at No. 5 Adelphi on September 26.

ESU is now 7-9-2 all-time (5-5-1 under 10th-year head coach Rob Berkowitz) when playing in a match-up of two top-25 teams in the NSCAA DII poll.

The Warriors are now 3-3-2 vs. West Chester since the start of the 2011 season. They split three games last fall, including a 0-0 tie in the PSAC quarterfinals at WCU (ESU advanced 4-3 on penalty kicks) and a 2-1 (OT) win in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

ESU returns to action Saturday vs. Seton Hill (4-5-2, 4-5-2), which plays a non-conference game at Alderson Broaddus on Tuesday night.
