SLIPPERY ROCK - Senior forward Robin Stevenson and sophomore midfielder Karisa Turner scored first-half goals within a minute of each other, and junior midfielder Sydney McCarthy added a third with just under 12 minutes left as No. 1-ranked East Stroudsburg University secured the right to host the PSAC semifinals and championship game with a 3-0 win at Slippery Rock in PSAC field hockey on Saturday.

ESU (15-3, 9-1) earned a share of its second straight PSAC regular season title and third in school history with the victory. The Warriors finish the regular season tied with Shippensburg (16-2, 9-1) for the PSAC's best conference record, and will host the PSAC Final Four by virtue of their 2-1 (2OT) win vs. Ship last weekend.

The Warriors, who won their first-ever PSAC championship last fall, will play in the second semifinal game on Friday (November 4) at 2:30 p.m., preceded by the first semifinal at 12 p.m. ESU will host the PSAC championship game on Sunday (November 6) at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.

ESU will await the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 4 seed Millersville and No. 5 seed Bloomsburg. No. 3 seed West Chester hosts No. 6 seed IUP in the other first-round game. Shippensburg is the No. 2 seed.

The Warriors won last year's PSAC title with a 1-0 win over Millersville.

Stevenson scored 10:22 into the game, followed by a goal by Turner, assisted by senior midfielder Desiraye Mack, just 49 seconds later to jump on Slippery Rock (6-12, 3-7) on Saturday.

McCarthy scored unassisted with 11:46 remaining.

Stevenson's goal is her team-leading 11th of the season and the 21st of her career. Turner netted her third goal of the season, and McCarthy had her fourth.

Senior goalkeeper Danielle Ard wasn't called on to make a save in posting her ninth shutout (seventh solo) of the season, and the 21st shutout (15th solo) of her career.

ESU held advantages of 27-4 in shots and 14-1 in penalty corners. The Warriors had a 13-2 edge in shots (6-0 in corners) in the first half.

Nicole Bream had eight saves for Slippery Rock.

ESU previously won a share of PSAC regular season titles in 2010, when the conference was split in two divisions, and 2015, when the Warriors shared the regular season crown with Millersville.

The Warriors also notched their sixth 15-win season in program history. Last year's NCAA Division II championship team set the school record with 19 wins, followed by 17-win seasons in 1995 and 2010, and 16-win campaigns in 1996 and 2001.

In last Saturday's 2-1 (2OT) vs. Shippensburg, which gave the Warriors their tiebreaker for home field advantage, junior midfielder Ashley Chioda scored her first career goal with 4:28 remaining in the second overtime after Stevenson tied the game with a goal midway through the second half.

ESU has won eight straight games entering the postseason since a 3-1 loss at West Chester on September 28, its only PSAC setback. The Warriors have won 12 of their last 13 since a 3-2 start and have an 8-1 home record at Whitenight Field this fall.
