THE MATCH-UP: ESU hosts UPJ in the second half of this weekend's homestand at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors faced Clarion Saturday, posting a 91-74 win.  (Recap)

LAST TIME OUT (NOV. 15): So. G Noelle Powell had 15 points and 3 steals off the bench, and Sr. F Allison Howard posted 17 points and 7 rebounds, leading ESU (1-0) to a 65-59 win vs. Holy Family in its 2016-17 opener Tuesday night. Jr. G Imani Brown added 10 points and 9 rebounds. The Warriors scored 20 points off 23 Holy Family turnovers and had 14 steals, including 4 by Fr. G Tiffany Lapotsky (7 points).

WARRIORS NOTES: ESU is listed No. 6 in this week's D2SIDA Atlantic Region rankings, moving up 3 spots from the preseason poll ... ESU was picked 2nd in the PSAC East preseason poll ... Howard, a 2016 All-PSAC East 1st team selection, has 979 career points and can become the 15th 1,000-point scorer in school history ... she ranks 14th at ESU in career rebounds (526) ... Jr. F Rebecca Rutkowski led the PSAC and was 17th in DII in blocks (2.3 bpg) last season.

THE SERIES: UPJ has a 6-4 lead in the series, but ESU has won the only two meetings in the last 10 years - 74-65 at UPJ in January 2014, and 82-67 at home in December 2014. The series started in 1980 and was dormant from 2003 until UPJ joined the PSAC in 2013-14.

SCOUTING UPJ: Pitt-Johnstown opened 2-0 entering Saturday's game at Bloomsburg, including a 74-72 win vs. #25 Shaw, a 2016 NCAA Tournament team, in its season opener. UPJ was picked 9th in the PSAC West preseason poll but hit 14 3-pointers vs. Shaw with Nicole Corcoran (15 points) making 5 three's to lead 5 double-figure scorers.

THE MATCH-UP: The Warriors take on UPJ in their second game of the weekend, and the 2nd of 3 home games in a 10-day stretch. They posted a 103-76 win vs. Clarion on Saturday.  (Recap)

LAST TIME OUT (NOV. 16): Sr. F Steve Harris had a career-high 22 points with 12 rebounds in his season debut, leading ESU past Concordia, 87-74. The Warriors trailed by 10 early in the 2nd half, got back in the game with a 12-2 run and closed the game on a 19-5 run en route to 51 2nd-half points. Sr. F Rasheed Moore (16 points), Jr. G Ryan Krawczeniuk (11), So. G Nick Giordano (11) and R-Sr. G Quindell Brice (10) were in double figures.

WARRIORS NOTES: Moore is a 3-time All-PSAC East selection (2016 1st team) and ranks 16th at ESU in career points (1,216) and 10th in rebounds (603) ... Harris is currently 1st at ESU in career field goal % (62.5) ... So. G Kitt Najee Walls was 1st in PSAC (23rd DII) in assists (5.4 apg) as a freshman ... in the last 7 years (2010-16), ESU is 3rd in the Atlantic Region with 152 wins ... Warriors are 51-9 at Koehler Fieldhouse since start of 2012-13 ... Jeff Wilson ranks 12th in PSAC history in career wins (255).

SERIES HISTORY: The ESU-UPJ series is knotted 5-5 with the Warriors winning both meetings since UPJ joined the PSAC - 100-57 at home in December 2014, and 81-68 on the road in January 2014. ESU is 3-2 vs. UPJ under Wilson. The series opened in 1992.  

SCOUTING UPJ: The Mountain Cats were picked 3rd in the PSAC West preseason poll with two preseason all-conference selections, Sr. F A.J. Leahey (17.5 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and Jr. G Dale Clancy (10.6 ppg, 4.3 apg). Leahey is a 2-time All-PSAC West 1st team pick and was 5th in the PSAC with 22.3 ppg through 3 games, including 26 in a 78-60 win vs. Lincoln.
