Imani Brown had 10 for ESU (10-10, 8-8), which had won nine of their previous 11 games, including a 71-66 win vs. Bloomsburg on Saturday.
Colleen Young scored 17 points and Logan Snyder had 16 to pace Shippensburg (16-4, 12-4), which held off the Warriors after dropping a pair of games at Bloomsburg and West Chester last week.
ESU trailed 43-26 with 1:20 left in the second quarter, but scored the last four points of the first half to pull within 43-30 at intermission.
The third quarter was a low scoring affair, with ESU outpacing Ship, 10-6, and holding the Raiders to 2-for-14 from the floor with nine turnovers to make it 49-40 entering the fourth.
The Warriors embarked on a 16-6 run in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter to take their first lead since early in the contest. Poderis scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth, including a pair of three-pointers within 90 seconds as the Warriors led 56-55 with 5:05 left.
Ship went back in front on a bucket by Kristin McGeough, and neither team scored until a steal and layup by Poderis gave the Warriors a 58-57 edge with 1:14 left.
Snyder tied it at 58-58 with 1-of-2 at the line with 1:00 remaining. Both teams had a chance to win it in the final minute, including two shots by ESU in the last 10 seconds, before settling for overtime.
In the extra session, Ship got off to a strong start before Brown tied it with a putback and three-point play with 2:07 remaining. Ship went ahead 64-62 on a basket by Haley Scullion at the 1:20 mark before ESU tied it for the final time (64-64) on a steal and layup by Reviere with 42.0 seconds left.
Ship led 66-64 on a basket by Colleen Young with 18.6 seconds left, and Reviere made 1-of-2 at the line to get ESU within 66-65 with 7.4 seconds left. Young was 2-for-2 at the line for Ship for a 68-65 lead with 5.0 seconds left, and ESU had a long two-point attempt go long at the other end.
Reviere's 19 points were a season-high and one off her career-high of 20 against Lock Haven last season. She had four assists and just two turnovers while playing all 45 minutes.
Howard turned in her third straight double-double, seventh of the season and the 12th of her career and also had two blocks.
Senior center
Michelle Boggs had seven points and seven rebounds for ESU to add to the contributions of the four double-figure scorers.
ESU shot 33.8 percent (25-for-74) from the field while holding Ship to 36.4 percent (24-for-66). Both teams made four three-pointers. Ship had a five-point advantage in scoring at the foul line, going 16-for-19, while ESU was 11-for-18.
ESU had a +5 advantage in turnovers (21-16) and Ship notched a +5 advantage in rebounds (49-44).
ESU was looking for its first win at Shippensburg since January 24, 1987 and has dropped its last 18 at Heiges Field House.
The Warriors are idle on Wednesday night and travel to Cheyney on Saturday.
