EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt freshman Dylan Nace (141) completed an undefeated dual season and senior Tyson Searer (285) won his final career dual as East Stroudsburg University fell to Kutztown, 29-6, in PSAC and NCAA Division II Super Region 1 wrestling on Tuesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Nace finished his first season of dual competition with a 13-0 record, posting a 7-1 decision vs. Travis Roper at 141.

Searer completed the night with a 1-0 decision vs. Ryan Appleby to finish his dual career with a 46-9 mark, one of the Warriors' best dual records in the last 30 years.

ESU's next action will be the NCAA DII Super Regional 1 at Mercyhurst on February 26-27, which will determine the four wrestlers at each weight class who will advance to the NCAA DII Championships.

Nace (19-2 overall), ranked No. 4 in the region, used a takedown and four near-fall points in the final 10 seconds of the second period to notch his 7-1 win vs. Roper. After a scoreless first period, Nace gained an escape 43 seconds into the second period and then took down Roper with 11 seconds left for a 7-0 lead. Roper gained just an escape in the third period with Nace keeping him down for the first 1:20.

Nace improves to 12-1 vs. DII competition entering the regional with his only setback a 9-0 major decision vs. Sam Hanau (UPJ), ranked No. 2 in the region, at the PSAC Championships on December 5. Nace has won 12 straight bouts since that defeat.

Nace is the 14th ESU wrestler to post an unbeaten dual record of at least 13-0 in school history, and the third in the last 25 years. He is the first since Jason Peters went 18-0 in 1996-97.

Searer (15-6 overall), ranked No. 7 in DII and No. 2 in the region, earned an escape point to start the third period for the only scoring of his bout vs. Appleby, ranked No. 4 in the region. There was no scoring the first two periods, as Searer deferred and Appleby chose neutral to start the second. Searer chose down and Appleby gave him the escape to start the third period, and Searer controlled almost all of the match to earn the win.

Searer improves to 74-36 overall and 46-9 in duals in his career at ESU entering the regional. He was an NCAA DII qualifier at 197 pounds as a freshman in 2013. He is 39-15 overall (24-3 in duals) the last two years at 285 pounds after wrestling at 197 his first two years. Searer is 11-2 in duals this season after posting a 13-1 dual record as a junior.

He is just the fourth ESU wrestler in the last 30 years to win at least 45 career duals with single-digit losses.

Searer has won 10 straight matches overall since falling to three DI wrestlers at the PSAC Championships on December 5. He has a 10-1 record vs. DII competition with his only loss a 6-1 setback vs. D.J. Sims (UPJ), currently ranked No. 2 in DII and No. 1 in the region, on November 24.

Searer's decision vs. Appleby was the only match-up of regionally-ranked wrestlers.

Kutztown's Matt Martoccio (157), ranked No. 5 in DII and No. 2 in the region, won a 12-2 decision vs. junior Joey Kratochvil. At 184, Kutztown's Collin Schildt won a 4-1 decision vs. ESU junior Tyler Richardson, who is ranked No. 4 in the region.
