EAST STROUDSBURG - Graduate student Travis Toth improved his NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the weight throw for the second straight week at East Stroudsburg University's 17th Annual DeSchriver Invitational on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Toth hit a mark of 62-11 1/4, improving his PSAC-leading mark. He threw 60-5 1/4 last week at Lehigh which ranked 13th in DII.

ESU athletes won four events in the 17th annual meet, led by Toth's performance.

Senior William Berry won his third straight DeSchriver title in the high jump (6-6 3/4) and has a mark of 7-0 1/2, tied for second-best in DII this year.

Junior Sean Hagerty won the long jump with a PR of 22-9, his second DeSchriver title. He also won the long jump as a freshman in 2014.

Freshman Akeim Thomas won the 55m hurdles in 7.75 seconds, tied for the 6th-best time in school history.

One school record was set by sophomore Kaylyn West, who clocked 1:40.39 in the 600m, breaking the time of 1:40.47 set by Erin Brady last year. West ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 1000m (2:59.56) on Friday at the Armory in New York City.

Freshman Marissa Flim set an ESU freshman record in the 55m dash (7.30), edging the record of 7.31 set by Danielle Smith, an eight-time PSAC sprint champion, in 2012.

The Warriors had a total of 20 new and two improved (Toth, Hagerty) PSAC qualifying marks on Saturday, with 11 new marks from the men and nine from the women.

On the women's side, Flim and senior Tirzah Johnson (7.45) ran PSAC qualifying times in the 55m dash. The Warriors had three qualifiers in the 55m hurdles in junior Kelley Anne Stuetz (8.85), sophomore Jaid Harsch (8.88) and freshman Joanne Mason (8.90).

Freshman Victoria Collins cleared 5-2 1/2 in the high jump and junior Brandie Tartza hit a mark of 10-4 in the pole vault, tied for 5th in school history.

Senior Samantha Mason had a PSAC qualifier in the long jump (16-11 1/4) and Johnson hit a PSAC mark in the triple jump (35-0 1/2).

On the men's side, ESU had three PSAC qualifying times in the 55m from sophomore Ernest Pendleton (6.65), freshman Patrick Monahan (6.65) and freshman Quincy Palmer (6.70).

In the 55m hurdles, five Warriors ran PSAC times in Thomas, sophomore Christian Castro (7.85), senior Adam Robertino (8.06), freshman Mike Matrisciano (8.07) and senior Eric Conard (8.27).

Freshman Khai Samuels clocked 1:59.97 in the 800m.

In the jumps, junior La Treil Ridgway cleared 6-0 3/4 in the high jump and junior Steven Morgan matched his PSAC qualifier in the long jump (21-4 3/4).

Morgan ran a PR in the 60m hurdles (8.14), an NCAA provisional qualifying time and the second-fastest in school history, on Friday at the Armory.

In the 600m (not contested  at the conference level), freshman Jared Glosser ran 1:24.70, ESU's No. 2 time.

There was one meet record set as Rebecca Swisher (Franklin & Marshall) broke her own meet record in the women's pole vault, clearing 12-1 1/2 after setting the standard at 11-11 1/4 last year.

Conard also competed this weekend at Bucknell, scoring a season-best 3,597 points in the heptathlon to improve his standing on the PSAC's entry list. Conard was the PSAC champion in the decathlon outdoors and was fifth in the heptathlon indoors last season.
