ESU trailed 4-2 at halftime, then scored four straight goals midway through the second half to take a 10-8 lead on Zimmer's third goal of the game, her second career hat trick, with 12:33 left.
Millersville (4-1, 1-0) scored four of the last five goals, tying it on a goal by Bridget Hufnagel with 4:53 left before winning it just before the final horn.
ESU held a 24-23 edge in shots, while Millersville had a slight 21-19 advantage in shots on goal.

Jessica Maxwell made nine saves for the Warriors, and Bryana Weston-Wyatt had eight saves for the Marauders.
Bridget Hufnagel had four goals and an assist, Sabrina Fusco had two goals and three assists and Abby Mack added a goal and an assist for Millersville.
ESU travels to Bloomsburg for a PSAC game on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
