EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Allison Decker ran an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 10,000m on Friday as East Stroudsburg University opened the outdoor track and field season with meets at UNC Charlotte and Washington & Lee this weekend.

Decker turned in a PR in the 10K at Washington & Lee, running 36:52.95 to knock just under six seconds off her PR, which ranks seventh in school history. Decker, sixth in the PSAC in the 10K last spring, ran her second career NCAA provisional after hitting the standard in the 5K during the indoor season. She was also an NCAA qualifier in cross country last fall.

ESU athletes produced 19 PSAC qualifying marks, seven women and 12 men.

Friday at Washington & Lee, Decker and senior Chelsea Conover (38:56.76) both qualified in the 10K and freshman Victoria Matthews hit a PSAC qualifier in the high jump (5-3 1/4). Sophomore Taylor Watkins had a PSAC qualifying mark in the javelin (124-0) on Saturday.

ESU's women had three PSAC qualifiers on Friday at UNC Charlotte, led by sophomore Kaylyn West, who ran ESU's second-fastest time ever in the 3000m steeplechase (11:12.72). West was seventh in the PSAC in the mile and eighth in the 800m at the indoor championships three weeks ago.

Sophomore Samantha Young qualified in the 1500m (4:53.21) and junior Brandie Tartza in the pole vault (10-0).

For the men, junior Alec Lederer ran 9:35.24 in the 3000m steeplechase for a PSAC qualifier at Charlotte on Friday.

Ten Warriors combined for 11 PSAC qualifiers at Washington & Lee with senior Adam Robertino hitting the standard in both the 110m hurdles (15.36) and 400m hurdles (57.04) on Saturday. Junior Steven Morgan, who has won both of the last two PSAC titles in the 110 hurdles and was runner-up in the 60m hurdles indoors this year, ran 15.03 in his first outdoor action of the season.

Also Saturday, senior Derrick Washington, the reigning PSAC outdoor 400m champ, ran a PSAC qualifier in 49.64, junior La Treil Ridgeway qualified in the triple jump (43-7 3/4) and sophomore Tyler Hope hit the PSAC standard in the javelin (170-9).

On Friday at W&L, junior Anthony Ruiz qualified in the 3000m steeplechase (9:50.96) and four Warriors ran PSAC times in the 10,000m - sophomore Jeremy Rapposelli (32:41.29), junior Jeremy Riggotti (32:52.61), junior Alex Zubko (32:53.47) and sophomore Dan Buccino (32:56.23).

Senior Eric Conard, the 2015 PSAC champion in the decathlon, opened his outdoor season at Charlotte Thursday and Friday with a score of 5,764 points. He was second of five competitors, and first of three from the PSAC.
