ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Junior left-hander Rachael Liguori threw a complete game in the opener and sophomore outfielder Madison Oren hit the go-ahead home run in the fifth inning of game two, leading East Stroudsburg University to two wins (7-1, 2-1) at Nyack in non-conference softball on Wednesday afternoon.

Liguori struck out five, walked three and allows six hits, improving to 6-5 on the season with her seventh complete game in 11 starts.

In game two, seniors Amanda Carlin (3.0 IP) and Allison Mende (4.0 IP) did the pitching and Oren broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth with her second homer of the year.

ESU (11-9, 0-4 PSAC East) travels to No. 15 West Chester (25-3, 2-0) for a conference doubleheader on Thursday.

GAME 1 - W 7-1

ESU took a 1-0 lead in the first, then broke it open with five runs in the third inning to back up Liguori's pitching performance (0 earned runs).

Sophomore 2B Heather Visco (2-for-3, walk, double, 2 RBI, run) and senior 1B Danielle Dungee (2-for-3, walk, RBI) both had two hits for the Warriors. Sophomore SS Mary Wallick was 1-for-3 with a walk, RBI and two runs and junior Rae Holden was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs.

Holden singled with two outs and scored on an RBI single by Dungee to put the Warriors ahead in the first inning.

ESU scored five runs on two hits and two errors in the third, including RBI singles by Wallick and Visco.

Visco added a two-out RBI double to score Wallick in the sixth.

GAME 2 - W 2-1

Senior catcher Haley Thomas hit her fourth home run of the season in the second inning, and Oren gave the Warriors the lead in the fifth as they made the most of their four hits.

Nyack scored its only run in the bottom of the first off Carlin (3.0 IP, 5 hits, 3 strikeouts, 1 walk). Mende entered after a leadoff double in the fourth, going 4.0 innings (0 runs, 4 hits, 6 strikeouts) to earn the win.

Freshman 3B Samantha Pickar was 2-for-2 for the Warriors.
