WEST CHESTER - Sophomore Kaylyn West ran 2:16.34 in the 800m, fourth-fastest in school history, to lead East Stroudsburg University's entrants at the West Chester Invitational on Sunday.

West's time was one of four new and one improved PSAC qualifying marks posted by the Warriors on the fourth weekend of the outdoor season. This weekend's meet was postponed form Saturday due to inclement weather.

West's 2:16.34 is ESU's fastest women's 800m time since 2002, when Kristin Mullin ran 2:15.85 (ESU's 2nd-fastest time). West is also a PSAC qualifier in the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase, ranking in the top five in the conference in both events.

Senior Chelsea Conover ran a PSAC qualifier in the 1500m (4:58.77) and junior Allison Decker cruised to a PSAC qualifier in the 5000m (17:48.02), ninth-fastest in school history. Decker has an NCAA DII provisional in the 10,000m (36:52.95) from the opening weekend at Washington & Lee.

Freshman Victoria Matthews improved her PSAC qualifier in the women's high jump (5-4 1/4).

Freshman Akeim Thomas ran a new PSAC qualifier in the men's 200m (22.54) in his first individual action of the outdoor season, after establishing himself as one of the conference's top hurdlers indoors.

Three of ESU's men's standouts - junior Steven Morgan, senior William Berry and graduate student Travis Toth - had solid days in their events.

Morgan ran 14.93 in the 110m hurdles, just off his PSAC-leading time of 14.83 at Lafayette two weeks ago.

Berry cleared 6-6 3/4 in the high jump and has the PSAC's second-leading mark (6-8 1/4), also at Lafayette.

Toth hit 193-8 in the hammer and leads the PSAC at 198-9 (at Lafayette). He had a mark of 197-4 last week at Bloomsburg.

Berry and Toth's season bests are also NCAA Division II provisional qualifiers.

The Warriors compete at Moravian and Bucknell next weekend.
