EAST STROUDSBURG - Amanda Houck and Katie Erb picked up wins in the circle as No. 12-ranked West Chester stayed unbeaten in PSAC East softball with two victories (10-1, 6-0) at East Stroudsburg University on Friday afternoon at Zimbar Field.

WCU (39-3, 10-0) broke open a 2-1 game with five runs in the sixth and three in the seventh in the opener, then did the same in the nightcap - extending a 2-0 lead with three in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Houck improved to 14-3, throwing 6.0 innings (1 unearned run, 4 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks), with Brooke Harner recording three strikeouts in the seventh.

Erb threw a five-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk in game two.

ESU (15-17, 1-11) had nine hits in the doubleheader with senior catcher Haley Thomas going 2-for-5 to keep her batting average at a robust .426 (40-for-94).  Sophomore OF Madison Oren also had two hits for the Warriors.

Senior Allison Mende threw a complete game for ESU in the second game, holding the Golden Rams to two runs in the second inning before they stretched out their lead late in the contest.

Junior Rachael Liguori surrendered two runs in the first inning, then blanked WCU for the next four, before they made it 7-1 in the sixth inning of the opener.

ESU travels to Kutztown for a PSAC East doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
