EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior forward Robin Stevenson scored four goals and senior back Emily Howell added two, leading No. 1-ranked East Stroudsburg University to a 7-0 win vs. Mercyhurst in non-conference field hockey on Saturday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Stevenson, last week's PSAC and NFHCA DII Player of the Week, had her first career four-goal game. She is the fourth ESU player to score at least four goals in a game since the start of the 2003 season.

Sophomore forward Bailey Quinn opened the scoring 9:58 into the game with her first career goal for the Warriors, assisted by junior back Hannah Caplan.

Stevenson scored her first goal within three minutes and added another 10 minutes later, with Howell's first goal - assisted by junior midfielder Ashley Chioda for her first career point - giving the Warriors (3-1) a 4-0 lead with just under seven minutes left in the first half.

Stevenson scored her third goal, assisted by Quinn, 30 seconds in to the second half and got her fourth five minutes later.

Howell completed the scoring just over 10 minutes in the second half.

Three ESU goalkeepers saw the field, with none required to make a save - senior Danielle Ard (46:43), junior Halle Frisco (13:57) and freshman Maddie Richie (9:20).

ESU held advantages of 45-1 in shots and 21-0 in penalty corners. Sam Takac made 14 saves for Mercyhurst (0-3).

Stevenson has seven goals and an assist through four games this season after recording three goals and an assist on the opening weekend, a 4-2 win at No. 4 Merrimack and both goals in a 2-1 win at No. 5 Stonehill.

The Warriors, the defending NCAA Division II champions, played at Whitenight Field for the first time since winning their first-ever PSAC championship with a 1-0 victory vs. Millersville on November 8 last fall.

ESU improves to 10-3 when ranked No. 1 in the NFHCA DII poll, including 4-0 at Whitenight Field. The Warriors rallied after a 3-0 loss at No. 8 Bloomsburg on Tuesday.

ESU hosts a pair of games next week, taking on LIU Post on Monday and West Chester on Wednesday. Both are non-conference games.
