SHIPPENSBURG - Senior back Emily Howell scored the game's only goal 2:46 into overtime, giving No. 1-ranked East Stroudsburg University a 1-0 (OT) win at No. 2 Shippensburg in a match-up of the top two teams in this week's NFHCA Division II poll on Saturday  afternoon.

Howell's goal ended an impressive defensive effort for ESU (5-2), which handed Shippensburg (5-1) its first loss of the season and held the Raiders to two shots in the contest.

ESU won its second "1 vs. 2" match-up in two years after posting a 1-0 win vs. Millersville in last year's PSAC championship game.

Howell scored her second career overtime game-winner, her third goal of the season and ninth of her career. She gave the Warriors a 2-1 win at Slippery Rock just under one year ago (September 19, 2015).

Senior goalkeeper Danielle Ard made one save to record the Warriors' second straight shutout, following a 4-0 win vs. No. 9 West Chester on Wednesday.

Ally Mooney made six saves for Shippensburg as the Warriors held an 8-2 advantage in shots.

ESU, which improved to 12-4 when ranked No. 1 in the NFHCA DII poll, hosts Molloy in a non-conference game on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
