IUP Completes 3-0 Sweep of ESU Volleyball

INDIANA, Pa. – Lily McWilliams had 11 kills, and Natalie Cignetti supplied 10 of her own as IUP swept East Stroudsburg University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-13, 25-15, 25-19.

McWilliams added 10 digs in a double-double effort for the Crimson Hawks (11-2, 2-0 PSAC), who improved to 7-1 at home this season.

Junior Desiree Claxton totaled 10 digs of her own to lead the Warriors (8-7, 0-2) defensively, while sophomore Tina Predojevic chipped in nine digs, nine assists, three blocks and two aces. Claxton has registered double-digit digs four times in her first six matches played this fall.

IUP ended the contest with a .298 team attack percentage compared to .044 for ESU. Junior Rosa Veliky managed a .300 attack rate with four kills, one shy of freshman Sarah Smith's team-leading five.

The Crimson Hawks controlled play at the net, finishing with a 12-4 advantage in blocks.

After two straight weekends away from home, the Warriors will look to get back on track in their return to Koehler Fieldhouse next Friday and Saturday. ESU welcomes Cal U for a 7 p.m. contest on Friday, and the Warriors will host Seton Hill at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
