WEST CHESTER - No. 10-ranked West Chester goalkeeper Sarah Krause made 15 saves, leading the Golden Rams to a 3-1 win over No. 2 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC field hockey on Wednesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
ESU (7-3, 1-1), which won a 4-0 non-conference verdict vs. West Chester (5-4, 2-0) on September 14, held advantages of 23-14 in shots and 17-5 in penalty corners, but the Golden Rams held on.

Emily Howell scored her fifth goal of the season for ESU, assisted by sophomore midfielder
Paige Harrold, to cut the Warriors' deficit to 2-1 with 14:46 remaining, but WCU answered right back with a goal by Marnie Kusakavitch just 69 seconds later to make it 3-1.
WCU scored just before the half as Rachal Toppi got the game's opening goal with 1:36 on the clock, and added to its lead with a goal by Maya Gulliksen 12 minutes into the second half.
ESU held margins of 17-6 in shots and 14-2 in penalty corners in the second half. WCU had a slight 8-6 edge in shots and both teams had three penalty corners in the first half.
Krause made 12 of her WCU-record 15 saves after intermission.
Senior goalkeeper
Danielle Ard made seven saves for the Warriors.
ESU won the last four meetings vs. West Chester, three last season and the non-conference game this year, by a 17-3 margin after WCU had a 31-0-3 edge in the previous 34 games (since 1960). ESU beat the Golden Rams 3-1 in the PSAC semifinal and 6-2 in the NCAA Division II semifinal last fall.
The Warriors travel to Mercyhurst for a PSAC game on Saturday at 1 p.m. ESU won the first match-up, 7-0, on September 10.
