MANSFIELD - Senior back Laurel Neira and senior midfielder Shea Neal scored goals and senior back Hannah Gombos had both assists, leading No. 5-ranked East Stroudsburg University to a 2-0 win at Mansfield in PSAC women's soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Neira scored in the 38th minute on a corner kick taken by Gombos, and Neal doubled the lead in the 55th minute on a free kick taken by Gombos.

Junior goalkeeper Jules Harris made five saves for ESU (3-0, 3-0), which posted its second road shutout to open 2016. The Warriors won 1-0 at Lock Haven last Thursday and beat Shippensburg at home, 2-1, last Saturday.

ESU, the two-time defending PSAC champion and 2015 NCAA DII Atlantic Region champion, held advantages of 23-8 in shots and 7-4 in corner kicks.

Rachel Fox, last year's All-PSAC first team goalkeeper as a freshman for Mansfield (0-2), made 12 saves.

Neira scored her 10th career goal and found the net for the second straight game. She opened the scoring with a header on a corner kick in the sixth minute in Saturday's win vs. Shippensburg.

Neal scored her first goal of the season and the 23rd of her career, moving into a tie with former teammate Sammi Jo Hughes (2012-15) for sixth in school history. She has 58 career points, moving into a tie for seventh with Lindsay Foder (2007-10).

Gombos, last week's PSAC Co-Athlete of the Week with a goal and an assist in the first two games, has one goal and three assists through three games this season from her spot at right back.

Harris has allowed just one goal through three games and had her 19th career shutout (17th solo) in 41 career starts.

The Warriors, who were ranked No. 9 in the preseason NSCAA DII poll before moving up four spots this week, improve to 37-8-3 since the start of the 2014 season.

ESU travels to Pitt-Johnstown for a PSAC game on Saturday.
