Imani Brown had 18 points, including 14 in the opening quarter, while sophomore guard
Noelle Powell added 17 points and a career-high six assists to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 75-55 victory at Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (10-7, 6-7 PSAC) never trailed and shot a season-best 53.6 percent from the field. They have now won each of their past three contests against the Huskies (4-13, 3-10 PSAC).
Brown was unstoppable in the first quarter, sinking 6 of 7 shots from the floor and 2 of 3 attempts from long distance to help the visitors jump out to a 28-14 advantage by the end of the frame. ESU hit 12 of 18 shots (66.7 percent) as a team in the first to match its season-high for most points scored in a quarter.
The offense cooled off to begin the second, with the Warriors netting only two points through the first 5:48 of the frame. Bloomsburg reduced its deficit to 30-23 during that stretch, but a 3-pointer from sophomore guard
Ann McKnight began a 10-4 spurt for ESU which had the margin back up to 40-27 by the end of the half.
Brown converted a pair of layups, and Powell made three free throws during a 9-3 run to get the second half underway. A jumper from freshman guard

Sadie Cresswell sank a 3-pointer with 7:49 left in the fourth to give the Warriors their largest advantage of 65-39.

Rachel Falkowski contributed 11 points (5-9 FG) to join Brown and Powell in double figures.
Powell hit 6 of 13 shots overall (2 of 4 from 3-point range) to net 15+ points for a fourth time in the past five contests. Her six assists surpassed her previous career-best of four, a total which she had managed twice earlier in the season.
Brown ended the contest 8 for 11 from the field, finishing just shy of her sixth-career 20-point output.
Today's victory is the largest for the Warriors over the Huskies since a 78-39 triumph on Jan. 23, 2008, and it is their first win in Bloomsburg since Feb. 11, 2009.
Alex Ross had a game-high 21 points, to go along with five rebounds and five assists, to lead the offensive effort for the Huskies, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
ESU is back in action on Wednesday night, hosting Mansfield for a 6 p.m. contest at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Mounties (4-13, 2-11 PSAC) ended a four-game losing streak with a 57-50 home win over Gannon on Saturday.
