LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior guard
Imani Brown registered a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds, and East Stroudsburg University played lockdown defense for a second-straight game to earn a 64-45 victory at Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (12-7, 8-7 PSAC) completed a season sweep of the Bald Eagles (7-12, 4-11 PSAC) and won their third game in a row overall. ESU, which allowed a season-low 39 points in a win over Mansfield on Wednesday, surrendered 18 points in the opening half against Lock Haven, with the home side managing only four points in the second quarter.
Senior guard
Courtney Brown added a career-high 11 points in the victory, while senior forward
Allison Howard contributed eight points and five rebounds in her return to the lineup after a four-game injury absence. Those eight points were enough to move her past Nan Wagner (1985-89) for tenth place on ESU's all-time scoring list. Howard now has 1,166 points and 630 rebounds (also No. 10 all-time) during her three-plus seasons as a Warrior.
ESU trailed by an 11-4 margin at the first media timeout with 4:45 remaining in the opening quarter. The Warriors, though, took the lead for good with an 11-0 run over the next 2:52 of play, with
Imani Brown and Howard accounting for all 11 points. Freshman guard
Jordan Hertz dished out assists on four of ESU's five field goals during the stretch, and she totaled a team-high five assists on the afternoon.
With a 19-14 lead entering the second quarter, the Warriors held Lock Haven to 2 of 13 shooting in the frame (15.4 percent) and scored 14 points of their own to extend the margin to 33-18 by halftime. The four points were the fewest allowed in a quarter by ESU this season, besting the previous low of five which had been set on two occasions.
The Warriors would lead by as many as 25 points in the second half.
Courtney Brown, who entered for the first time with 4:29 left in the third quarter, hit 4 of 10 shots from the field in 14 minutes of action, including 3 of 8 attempts from 3-point range. Senior guard
Rachel Falkowski chipped in eight points and five rebounds, hitting 3 of 4 field goal attempts. ESU had a season-high 50 rebounds in the win, with sophomore center

Dominique Rayam (4) each establishing new career-bests on the glass. Boryeskne also supplied two of the team's four blocks on the afternoon.
Lysa Mealing totaled 14 points and 15 points to lead Lock Haven. The Warriors have now swept the season series with the Bald Eagles in three of the past four years, and they have won 9 of 10 in the series overall.
ESU remained one game back of West Chester (9-10, 9-6 PSAC) for second place in the PSAC East standings. The Warriors are back at Koehler Fieldhouse for their next two contests, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. matchup against Cheyney (3-12, 3-12 PSAC) on Wednesday night.
