EAST STROUDSBURG - Aliza Mizak scored the game's only goal 3:12 into the second overtime period, giving No. 5-ranked Millersville a 1-0 (2OT) win over No. 2 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC field hockey on Wednesday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

The winner was decided by a 1-0 score for the sixth time in the last seven meetings between the Warriors and Marauders. ESU had won six straight overtime games - including a 3-2 (OT) victory vs. Bloomsburg last Tuesday in its most recent outing.

Millersville (10-3, 5-1) posted its seventh straight win, all shutouts, since a 3-3 start which included ESU's 2-0 win at Millersville on Sept. 20.

The Marauders killed off two five-minute yellow card opportunities (7-on-6) for ESU in overtime, including a defensive save by Meredith Fagan late in the first 15-minute overtime session.

ESU (10-3, 3-2) also killed off a yellow card midway through the first OT, as less than four minutes of the 18:12 of overtime action was played in the traditional 7-on-7 format.

Millersville held advantages of 19-8 in shots and 13-8 in penalty corners in the contest, culminating with Mizak's game-winner.

Senior goalkeeper Halle Frisco had two saves for ESU, and Kylee Bair had three saves for Millersville.

ESU suffered just its fourth PSAC loss in the last three seasons, falling to 44-11 overall (21-4 PSAC) since the start of the 2015 PSAC and NCAA Division II championship season.

Both of ESU's PSAC losses this fall are to teams the Warriors beat in non-conference action earlier in the season, Shippensburg and Millersville.

Fifteen of the last 18 meetings between ESU and Millersville have been decided by either a 1-0 or 2-1 margin.

The Warriors are back on the field on Saturday with a 12 p.m. start at Seton Hill (3-10, 0-5), which fell 3-0 to Slippery Rock on Wednesday and has yet to score in its five conference games.
