STROUDSBURG - Senior Samantha Miller tied for third with a 78, her 10th career round in the 70's, to lead East Stroudsburg University at its annual ESU Invitational at Glen Brook Golf Club on Saturday.

Kutztown won the team title by 23 shots over ESU (313-336) and had three of the top four individuals in medalist Rebecca Graham (76), Shannon Weber (77) and Jillian Jones, who tied for third with Miller at 78 on the par-72, 5,805-yard course.

Division III schools Alvernia (356), Marywood (379) and Jefferson (387) placed third through fifth.

The field included 29 individuals, with ESU placing three in the top 10 in Miller, junior Caterina Daniels (8th - career-best 84) and freshman Micaela Crines (9th - 86). Senior Mackenzie Mathna was tied for 11th (88) and sophomore Amy Bergquist was tied for 16th (92).

Miller's 10 career rounds in the 70's extend her program record. Briana Malachowski shot in the 70's in two rounds in the program's inaugural year in 2008-09, and Karen Cash had five rounds in the 70's in her only season at ESU in 2009-10.

She carded a sub-80 round for the third time at ESU's home course after shooting 76-79 in a 36-hole event at Glen Brook last April.

Miller had her second round in the 70's this fall, posting a 78 in the opening round at Le Moyne four weeks ago.

The Warriors also received their 2016-17 PSAC team GPA award as the conference's women's golf program with the top cumulative grade-point average (3.68) prior to the event.

ESU travels to central Pennsylvania for the PSAC Championships next weekend (Saturday-Sunday), which will be contested at Hershey Country Club.
