EAST STROUDSBURG – Seniors Kate Zimmerman and Allison Cardow won two races individually, and each was also part of a winning relay team to help East Stroudsburg University defeat Kutztown and Misericordia in a tri-meet at Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday.

The Warriors bested Kutztown by a 155-104 margin, while they handled Misericordia by a 188-72 final. ESU won 10 of 14 contested races, including 1-2 finishes in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle.

Four swimmers combined for six new PSAC qualifying times, while Zimmerman and junior Briana Hall lowered their times in the 100 breaststroke and 50 free, respectively.

The afternoon began with a victory for the 200 medley relay squad of senior Colleen Dwyer, Zimmerman, Cardow and senior Annie Fagan (1:52.40), and it concluded with a first place showing by the 200 free relay foursome of Hall, Dwyer, sophomore Olivia Lukshides and Fagan (1:42.19).

In between were eight individual victories. Zimmerman was victorious in the 100 breast (1:08.36) and the 200 individual medley (2:16.22). The 200 IM time was a new PSAC mark, and she also qualified with her second-place result in the 200 breast (2:33.14).

Cardow registered PSAC times while topping the field in the 100 fly (1:00.65) and 200 fly (2:16.76) events, with her 200 fly mark a new qualification.

The Warriors added conference times in their top two finishes in both the 50 and 100 free. Hall (24.86) out-touched Fagan (24.97) in the 50 free, recording the No. 6 quickest time in ESU history in the process. Fagan earned a win in the 100, as her time of 55.98 beat out Lukshides (56.09) by just over a tenth.

Lukshides (2:02.87) and freshman Bri Bieber (2:04.99) completed the Warriors' sweep of the sprint free events in the 200 free. ESU was also well-represented in the distance free races, as sophomore Tarah Killane was first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:18.80 (23 seconds ahead of the next finisher) and second in the 500 free with a mark of 5:28.84 that was 0.29 off of the PSAC qualifying standard.

The Warriors remain at Koehler Fieldhouse next Saturday, as they welcome LIU Post for a non-conference dual scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
