EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore forward Monica Wood scored 10 seconds into the second half and sophomore midfielder Nicole Abbott added an insurance goal in the 60th minute, leading East Stroudsburg University to a 2-0 win over Molloy in non-conference women's soccer on Tuesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Wood's goal, assisted by freshman midfielder Haley Skove, is ESU's fastest into the second half since at least 2003.

The Warriors (12-3-2) won their third straight and improved to 9-1-1 in their last 11 games entering their regular season finale at Clarion on Saturday night.

ESU, the three-time defending PSAC champion, secured its postseason berth last week and enters the weekend in contention for a top-four seed and home game in the PSAC quarterfinals on Tuesday, October 31.

Senior goalkeeper Jules Harris had five saves for her 37th career shutout (31st solo), extending both school records. She had her ninth shutout and seventh solo shutout of the season, entering with a goals against average of 0.68.

Harris surpassed the 7,000-minute mark for her ESU career after setting the school record last week, pushing her total to 7,067:51. A three-time All-Region selection and the 2016 PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year, Harris improved to 57-15-6 in her 78th career start.

Wood's goal gives her six on the season, tied for the team lead with sophomore forward Jules Sicker, who has missed the last six games due to injury. Skove picked up her second assist on the play.

The previous mark for fastest goal into the second half, since records are available in 2003, was 14 seconds by Nicole Kain vs. Edinboro in 2004.

Abbott had her fourth goal of the season and second in three games, after scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win vs. No. 4 Kutztown last Wednesday.

Jackie Carty had two saves for Molloy (6-7-2), which was coming off a 2-1 (OT) win vs. Bridgeport, which knocked off ESU in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2015.

ESU recognized six seniors prior to the game in Harris, midfielder Sammi Ortiz (who has started all 85 games), forward Molly Vicari, midfielder Nikki Weiss, back Madeline Martin and goalkeeper Courtney Bennett.

ESU's senior class improved to 62-16-7 in the last four years, the best stretch in school history, including the 2015 NCAA DII Atlantic Region title.

ESU was listed No. 5 in last week's initial Atlantic Region rankings, with the top six teams selected after next week's conference tournaments. This week's rankings will be released on Wednesday and will include games through last Sunday.

The Warriors enter Saturday night's game at Clarion (6-6-4, 5-5-4) with an 11-3-1 PSAC record and can secure a top-four seed with a win. Clarion plays at Seton Hill on Wednesday and is ninth in the PSAC standings, but will be unable to qualify for the tournament with the top eight teams already earning postseason spots.
