EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior guard Imani Brown netted 22 points to lead four players in double figures, as East Stroudsburg University topped Chestnut Hill by a 94-74 final in its 2017-18 home opener on Wednesday.

Sophomore guard Tiffany Lapotsky (17 points), junior guard Noelle Powell (15) and sophomore guard Sadie Cresswell (13) also scored 10+ for the Warriors (4-1), who won their fourth game in a row.

ESU reached 90 points for a second time in the past three contests. The Warriors have scored 90+ points five times in the past three seasons under head coach Diane Decker after previously not having accomplished the feat since 2008.

The home side gradually increased its advantage throughout the game. An 18-14 lead at the end of the first quarter was up to seven points (40-33) at halftime, and a 3-pointer by junior guard Ann McKnight made it 63-52 after three periods. The Warriors led by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter, as they earned their third win over the Griffins (2-2) in as many seasons.

ESU committed only one turnover in the final 20 minutes of play. For the game, Chestnut Hill finished with 23 giveaways compared to eight for the Warriors, and ESU had a commanding 24-4 edge in points off turnovers.

Powell and Cresswell's 28 points off the bench helped the ESU reserves have an overall scoring edge of 40-18 compared to their counterparts. The Warrior duo combined to hit 11 of 23 shots from the field.

Brown, who was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week on Monday, has scored 20 or more points in four of ESU's first five games this season. She hit 7 of 14 field goal attempts overall, including 4 for 9 from 3-point range.

Lapotsky has reached double figures in each of the season's first five games, and she also led the Warriors with seven rebounds in Wednesday's victory.

ESU had 12 made 3-pointers, matching a season high, and went a perfect 12 for 12 from the free throw line.

Vicky Tumasz (18 points, eight rebounds) and Jaeda Wildgoose (13 points, 10 rebounds) led the way for the Griffins.

The Warriors continue a stretch of seven-straight games at Koehler Fieldhouse on Sunday, as they welcome Jefferson (formerly Philadelphia University) for a non-conference tilt beginning at 1 p.m.
