SCRANTON - Scranton won the final three bouts to post a 21-16 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference wrestling on Wednesday night.
ESU won four bouts, including a fall from freshman
Victor Lopez at 125 pounds, who improves to 5-2 with three falls.
Redshirt sophomore
Mike Raccioppi, ranked No. 9 in Division II and No. 1 in Super Region 1 at 165 pounds, won by major decision (20-8) up a weight class at 174.
Freshman
Marquan Payne also bumped to a weight to 165 and won an 8-7 decision.
Redshirt junior
Blake Cohen won in sudden victory (10-8:sv1) at 149 pounds.
Lopez is ranked No. 4 at 125 and Cohen No. 5 at 149 in the most recent regional rankings, released last Wednesday.
Scranton picked up a fall at 141 pounds and five decisions. The Royals entered the final bout with the dual still in the balance, where William Oxley won a 7-4 decision at 285 pounds.
ESU travels to Newberry (S.C.) for duals against Limestone, Newberry and Emmanuel on Sunday.
