EAST STROUDSBURG – Faced with a 15-point deficit midway through the second quarter, East Stroudsburg University stormed back after the intermission to pull out a 73-62 victory over Seton Hill at Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday.

The Warriors (5-2, 3-0) outscored the Griffins (3-3, 1-2) by a 29-11 margin in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in PSAC play. Senior guard Imani Brown registered her third double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman forward Marlene Bassett added 11 points and junior guard Noelle Powell and sophomore guard Tiffany Lapotsky each had 10.

Brown has now scored 20+ points in five of ESU's first seven games this season. Included in her 24-point total was a three-point play with 5:21 remaining in regulation that gave the Warriors a 56-55 lead, their first since the opening minute of the game.

ESU gradually expanded its advantage for the remainder of the contest. Powell scored eight of her 11 points in the fourth, going 3 for 3 from the field and 2 for 2 from the free throw line. The Warriors scored nearly half of their points in the final quarter from the charity stripe, hitting 13 of 17 attempts as a team (76.5 percent).

Seton Hill hit three of its first four attempts from 3-point range to open up an early 17-8 lead. That advantage grew to 33-18 by the 6:18 mark of the second quarter, and the visitors remained ahead 41-30 at halftime.

ESU, though, held the Griffins to 20 percent shooting (7-35) and a total of 21 points over the final 20 minutes of play. The Warriors outscored Seton Hill 38-22 in the paint and grabbed a season-high 50 rebounds in the win.

Bassett (8) and sophomore guard Jordan Hertz (7) matched their season highs in rebounds, while Hertz also registered a career-high four blocks.

Brown hit 8 of 16 shots from the field and 7 of 8 free throws. She is averaging a team-high 20.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game through the season's first seven contests. Her 20+ point effort was the 12th of her career, and the double-double was her seventh at ESU.

The Warriors continue to be the only PSAC East school without a loss in conference play. That 3-0 record will be put to the test against California on Sunday. The Vulcans (6-1, 3-0) were ranked No. 4 in the most-recent WBCA DII Coaches' Poll, and they are coming off a 61-38 win at Bloomsburg on Saturday.

Sunday's matchup, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse, will be a rematch of last year's PSAC Final Four tilt in which California hit a last-second jumper to pull out a 71-69 victory.
