EDINBORO - Redshirt sophomore Mike Raccioppi was the runner-up at 165 pounds to lead East Stroudsburg University at the 75th annual PSAC Wrestling Championships on Saturday at Edinboro University.

Raccioppi won his first two bouts by decision, 12-6 over Nate Ross (Gannon) in the quarterfinals and 3-1:sv1 over Max Wohlabaugh of Division I Clarion in the semifinals.

He bowed out by first-period fall vs. Chase Marsteller (Lock Haven), ranked No. 8 in Division I and a former four-time PIAA state champion and Oklahoma State commit who was the top recruit in the country in 2014.

Raccioppi was ESU's first PSAC finalist since Thad Frick was runner-up at 165 during the 2011-12 season.

He was bidding to become ESU's first PSAC champ since Scott Heckman won the 149-pound title in 2006-07.

Raccioppi, ranked No. 9 in Division II at 165 pounds and No. 1 in Super Region 1, improves to 9-2 on the season, including the ESU Open title last month.

He was one of five Division II wrestlers to make the PSAC final in their bracket. The conference is comprised of four DI and eight DII schools, with the four DI schools claiming 15 spots in the finals.

Freshman Victor Lopez (125) won by 11-5 decision over David Reagan (Shippensburg) in the first round, and senior Paul Rallis (184) won by 9-8 decision over Anthony Ventura (Bloomsburg) in a consolation bout.
