YORK, Pa. – A 10th place finish from
Kate Zimmerman in the 100-yard breaststroke led East Stroudsburg University at Day 3 of the PSAC Swimming Championships on Saturday.
Zimmerman was one of five Warriors to reach individual finals on the day, as ESU remained in ninth place in the team standings with 289 points at the conclusion of the evening session. She booked her spot in the 'B' final as the No. 11 qualifier in the morning, touching in at 1:07.57, and she lowered that time to a season-best 1:07.10 to take 10th place at night.
Senior
Kelly Buyaskas also took part in the 100 breast, landing in the 'C' final with a personal-best mark of 1:08.77 which ranks No. 7 on ESU's all-time list. She finished 21st in the night session after completing her race in 1:09.71.
Junior
Colleen Dwyer continued her strong championship meet with a 'B' final appearance in the 100 backstroke. Dwyer, who broke her own school record in the 50 back on Thursday and established a new PR in the 100 back during the 400 medley relay on Friday, was the No. 13 qualifier in prelims with a time of 59.06. She would then add 12 points to the Warriors' total with a 15th place finish at night (59.27).
Freshman
Olivia Lukshides just missed out on a spot in the 'C' final in the 100 back, but her time of 1:02.36 in the prelims ranks her No. 10 in ESU program history in the event.
Junior
Allison Cardow, who set an ESU record in the 200 butterfly at TCNJ in December, placed 18th in the 200 fly on Saturday. Cardow finished the race in 2:14.65 in the prelims, and she took second place in the 'C' final after touching the wall in 2:13.49.
Freshman
Tarah Killane was the No. 21 qualifier in the morning in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:20.45, and she maintained her 21st place standing in the 'C' final while lowering her time down to 5:18.26.

Victoria Gurdak posed a time of 8:03.32, with Lukshides swimming the initial leg in 1:56.23 (0.22 off Friday's PR which is No. 2 all-time).
The final day of the 2017 championships begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday with preliminary heats in the 100 free, 200 back and 200 breast, as well as the early races in the 1650 free.
