EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior
Erin Brady set her second school record in the past three days, registering one of 16 first place finishes for East Stroudsburg University at the 18th annual DeSchriver Invitational on Sunday.
Brady completed the 600-meter dash in 1:38.06, clocking in over two seconds quicker than junior
Kaylyn West's mark of 1:40.39 set at last year's DeSchriver meet.
The Warriors had a total of 14 new top 10 program record book performances on the afternoon, with four of those coming in the women's 600m. Senior
Lauren Toth (1:40.74) is now No. 3 all-time, senior
Hope Decker (1:41.74) is No. 4 and freshman
Rachel Eidson (1:46.21) snuck in at No. 10 in the event.
ESU's freshmen 4x400m foursome of

Andrew Schumacher and
Mike Sheptuk concluded the afternoon with an ESU freshmen record of 3:23.84, breaking a mark which had stood since 2011. That earned them first place ahead of ESU's 'A' team of junior

Khai Samuels and senior
Robert Garvey.
The Warriors finished 1-2 in four of the six contested relays, including all three on the men's side. The men's 4x200m 'A' group of junior

Ernest Pendleton entered the record books at No. 6 all-time in program history after completing the race in 1:31.44, while freshman

Eidson chased down Pitt-Johnstown's Heather Paynter on the final lap to give ESU's team which included freshman

Gabby Rachmaciej a victory by 0.34 in the distance medley relay (13:16.42). On the men's side, the foursome of sophomore
Jared Glosser, Thomas, Samuels and junior Zach Krieger (10:45.05) beat out freshmen Sheptuk,
Colin Crosbie,
Andrew Lopez and
Matt Lloyd (10:45.32) on the last lap.
The men's team totaled six individual victories in the meet. Junior
Dan Buccino got things started in the 5000m with a PSAC-qualifying time of 15:43.94. Buccino registered one of 15 new PSAC marks on the day.
Castro (7.88) took first in the 55m hurdles, while Del Popolo (8.07) qualified for PSACs with his third place finish. In the 55m dash, it was sophomore
Pat Monahan who came out on top with a season-best time of 6.54. Freshman
Sam Avalos (6.75) was right on the PSAC qualifying time in seventh place.
Senior
Alec Lederer grabbed first in the mile with a PSAC time of 4:27.37, while freshman
Darnell Randall edged out ESU alum and former PSAC champion Kyle Soden in the high jump with a season-best clearance of 6-4 3/4. Fellow freshman
Vance Stay, Jr. booked his PSAC spot in the high jump with a fifth-place clearance of 6-2 3/4.
The final first place result on the men's side came from Samuels in the 600m. His finish of 1:23.37 is No. 2 in ESU history; Sheptuk (1:27.20) is now No. 9 all-time.
Sophomore
Nate Sharrah was the runner-up in the pole vault with a PSAC clearance of 13-7 1/4.
The women had four first-place showings individually in addition to Brady's win in the 600m.
Sophomore
Marissa Flim (7.22) was one of three new PSAC qualifiers in the 55m dash, along with sophomore
Aspen Gaita (7.36) and freshman
Morgan Dey (7.52). Flim posted a mark which is tied for third in program history; Gaita is now No. 10.
Gaita also stood out in the field, matching her NCAA Division II provisional season-best of 5-6 1/2 to take first place in the high jump. The Warriors added a second win in the field, with freshman
Sarah Smith now tied for sixth all-time in the triple jump (36-9 1/2).
Smith added a PSAC time with her fourth place finish in the 55m hurdles (8.94), just behind senior teammate
Brandie Tartza, who took second with a mark of 8.72 which is No. 8 all-time. Tartza also set a PR in the pole vault with a clearance of 10-11 3/4 which is tied for fourth in team history.
Junior
Samantha Young had the final first place effort, beating out a field of 15 in the 1000m (3:06.96).
ESU had two other new entrants in the program record book. Freshman
Alexis Schuldes (39-5 1/4) is now No. 9 in the shot put and freshman
Me'Saj Closs (45-10 1/2) is No. 9 in the weight throw.
Other new PSAC times included sophomore
Shante Dorin (1:01.73) in the 400m, freshman
Barbara Grossov (36-1 1/4) in the shot put, Schuldes (42-5 1/4) in the weight throw and freshman
Sam Giangrasso (41-9 3/4) in the weight throw.
ESU's foursome of Ventura, Dorin, Weitman and Matthews had a season-best time of 4:03.77 while taking first place in the 4x400m.
Two ESU alums who previously won PSAC championships had first place showings today, as Rose Mascoli was first in the 5000m (18:03.23) and Andy Richard topped the field in the weight throw (21-9). Other former PSAC champions to compete included Paul Wagner in the throws, Christina O'Connor in the high jump and Danielle Smith in the 55m dash.
The Warriors are back in action on Friday night, traveling to Staten Island, N.Y., to take part in the Fast Track National Qualifier.
