HILTON HEAD, S.C. – East Stroudsburg University began the spring portion of its 2016-17 schedule with a 9-0 defeat to Slippery Rock on Sunday morning.
The Warriors (0-3) are playing four matches in five days during their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head Island. The Rock improved its season record to 3-3.

Marina Zardet had the most competitive singles match for ESU, dropping a 6-3 6-3 decision to Amanda Bruscemi at No. 3. Junior
Elizabeth Bartoli, meanwhile, took four games from Allie Welch in the second set of her matchup at No. 4 after dropping the opening set by a 6-0 final.
Slippery Rock surrendered a total of two games in its three doubles victories.
The Warriors return to the courts on Monday morning with a 9 a.m. matchup against Erskine. ESU will then face Belmont Abbey and Olivet at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, to conclude its trip.
