Marina Zardet moved over .500 for the season with a straight-sets victory at No. 3 singles, as East Stroudsburg University fell 8-1 to Belmont Abbey on Wednesday morning.
Zardet bested Rachele Subik, 7-5, 6-1, to improve her season record to 5-4 (4-2 in duals). She has earned victories in 2 of 3 singles matches for the Warriors (1-4) during their spring break trip in Hilton Head.
Morgan Zahnd, Aisiri Jandyala, Teagan McNamara and Alex Weber each won in both singles and doubles for the Crusaders (4-7).
Sophomore
Lauren Morrissey took three games from Belmont Abbey's Emily Heim in the first set of their contest at No. 6 singles. Heim closed out the match with a 6-1 victory in the second set.
ESU is now 1-2 on its annual trip down south, with the Warriors dispatching Clarion by a 5-4 final on Monday for their first victory of the spring. They conclude the week with a 9 a.m. matchup against Olivet on Thursday morning.
