HILTON HEAD, S.C. – East Stroudsburg University won 2 of 3 doubles matchups and 4 of 6 singles contests to hand head coach Al McCormick his 100th career victory as women's tennis head coach with a 6-3 triumph over Olivet on Thursday morning.

Freshman Marina Zardet and junior Elizabeth Bartoli won at both singles and doubles for the Warriors (2-4), who conclude their spring break trip to Hilton Head with two wins and two losses.

Zardet rolled past BreAnne Rudlaff in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at No. 3 singles to earn her third consecutive victory, while Bartoli also needed only two sets to finish off Isabel Snyder at No. 4 (6-3, 6-2). The ESU duo teamed up for an 8-3 win over Rae Claramunt and Rachael Hager at No. 2 doubles earlier in the morning.

Junior Devin Presby and freshman Aubrianna Stetina added an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over Snyder and Miranda Pier to give the Warriors the advantage heading into singles play.

ESU's other two points came through victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Senior Kayla Loar outlasted Pier 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10) in a super tie-breaker thriller at No. 5, and sophomore Lauren Morrissey dispatched Claramunt in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) at No. 6. Loar is now 2-1 in singles play this season, while Morrissey evened up her record to 4-4.

The Warriors came close to sweeping the six singles matchups, as senior Amber Jadus and Presby each fell in super tie-breakers at the top two positions. Maddy Drikakis bested Jadus 7-6 (8-6), 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) at No. 1, and Hager edged out Presby 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) in a similarly tight contest at No. 2.

McCormick reaches the century mark for wins in his 14th season leading the women's tennis program. He led ESU to its first NCAA tournament appearance back in 2010, and he has coached two PSAC East Athletes of the Year.

Olivet's season record dropped to 3-5 with the defeat.

The Warriors return to the courts on Saturday, March 25, heading to Holy Family for a dual scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
